In a remote area of the Balkans, Amir, a bright young boy is ambitious to break away from the traditional peasant way of life by gaining a good education. But he is up against active opposition from his father and jealousy from a classmate. He is encouraged by his teacher but has to compete with his first crush who is an equally gifted student. Opened in 2015 and built on a foundation of your generous donations, the village now houses nearly 300 orphaned children and over 40 widows, removing them from a harrowing life on dangerous streets to an environment of loving care and opportunity.
